I am a 7th-12th grade Applied Skills Special Education Teacher at Franklin County High School, where I work with students with moderate to severe disabilities and a wide range of abilities and support needs. Through our school, I also run Wildcat Brew, a student-operated coffee shop, and the FCHS Gleaners Food Pantry, which provide meaningful opportunities for students with disabilities to develop job skills, independence, communication, and confidence. Outside of school, I enjoy teaching dance, reading, spending time at the pool, playing board and card games, and making memories with my family. What I am most excited about with this nonprofit is the opportunity to shift the focus from disabilities to abilities. I want to help create a community that recognizes each individual's strengths, celebrates what they can do, and provides opportunities for everyone to feel valued, included, and successful.
